GREATER MANCHESTER POLICE
21st July 2016
We have been heavily involved in Central Park, Greater Manchester Police’s new HQ, from inception to completion.
The assignment involved installing more than 5,000 cat6a cables containing 11,000 fibres and requiring 22,000 terminations. We completed the work comfortably ahead of schedule.
The assignment included installation of:
- AV system, satellite, DAB and FM aerials
- Specialised DVI cabling
- 2 voice MDF frames with voice backbones to 14 comms rooms
- 30 fibre backbones from two main comms rooms to 14 comms rooms
- 6 external fibre links to roof top, car park and media car park links
- 120 42u cabs in 18 locations
We overcame numerous challenges during this project, including adjusting our work
to changes in building specifications. We were also responsible for managing customer needs as well as working productively with the main sub-contractors.
Any issues were resolved by efficient communication and using innovative approaches to deliver flexible solutions. We did this without deviating from the timescales and by employing techniques that raised productivity.
CTU Central Park said: “We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to you all. You worked tirelessly and you have provided invaluable support during the move to Central Park. It is a massive credit to you all.”
