Networx3 celebrates its 17th birthday
Networx3 is celebrating 17 years in business.
The firm was founded by mechanical engineer Ian Ashworth on November 10, 2003, from a study in a Burnley semi.
Since then it has grown into the most-trusted blown fibre optic cable installation company in the UK.
Networx3 was born when Ian was working as an engineer for a fibre optic cabling company as an employee.
Because of his eye for detail and high standard of workmanship the company’s client – a UK police force – asked him to set up on his own so they could employ him directly.
Working alongside his wife Julie, who ran the Networx3 office, Ian steadily built the business up from a two-person operation.
By 2006 the firm had moved into new bigger premises, had four full time engineers on the books and a client list of emergency services, government departments and power companies.
Caroline Earnshaw joined Networx3 in 2013 and worked her way up to commercial director, which allowed Ian time to step back and strategically grow the business.
Fast forward to 2020 and industry-leading Networx3 has grown to a 15-strong workforce and launched a new Networx3 Drones arm to the business.
The Networx3 team includes certified drone pilots, engineers and ecologists and their work includes drone operations and blown fibre optic cabling infrastructure for critical infrastructure sectors, mobile phone giants and renewable energy utility companies.
Ian said: “Networx3 has come a long way since that humble semi in Burnley. It’s been hard, we’ve had bad years and good years, but with sheer determination, passion and excellent service to clients we’ve thrived. And those values of hard work, persistence and excellence flow through the veins of the business.”
