Ex-soldier joins the ranks at Networx3
Networx3 has expanded its team with ex-Kingsman Ayron Lockwood joining the firm this summer.
The 25-year-old from Burnley started work in July after nine years serving in the Duke of Lancaster’s regiment as an infantry soldier.
Having decided to make the move to civvy street Ayron completed a telecommunications course to help him land a job in the fast growing sector.
As part of Ayron’s job hunt in telecommunications he messaged Networx3 founder and managing director Ian Ashworth on LinkedIn.
Always on the lookout for enthusiastic new recruits Ian organised a Zoom job interview with himself and commercial director Caroline Earnshaw before offering Ayron the job.
Ayron said: “I signed up to the Army at age 16 so I was ready for a change and to have a bit more control over my life. Telecommunications is a great industry with lots of work and the chance to have a great career.
“I’m enjoying the job and learning something new every day. It’s great to be working for a local company too.”
Being back in his native Lancashire also means that Ayron gets to spend more time in his new house with his girlfriend Courtney.
Ian said: “Ayron has got off to a flying start with Networx3. He’s been working on some of our high profile government contracts and helping us keep up with demand for blown fibre optic cabling from our ever expanding list of clients. He’s a very welcome addition to the team.”
