Harnessing the power of bleeding edge technology from the US

Networx3 UAV is harnessing the power of bleeding edge technology from the US to offer the best-quality inspection and survey work available in the UK.

The Lancashire-based firm is using next generation mapping and analytics platform gNext Labs to turn their drone footage into immersive data maps.

The cloud-based inspection and survey platform is already being deployed by Network Rail and UK local authorities and Networx3 UAV is currently using it to help redevelop a crumbling Grade II listed building.

The tech gives Networx3 UAV the power to visualise data and gather valuable analytics in a secure, scalable and shareable environment.

The mapping and analytics platform is proving invaluable during inspection and survey work on 197-year-old Griffin Lodge, in Blackburn.

Networx3 UAV has captured the condition of the landmark building ahead of its redevelopment into a state-of-the-art GP super-surgery.

Networx3 UAV’s newest recruit, graduate Olivia Cambridge, will become one of the in-house experts on gNext Labs.

Olivia Cambridge

The 22-year-old joined the firm after completing her photography degree at Falmouth University last year.

She said: “This is my first job where I’m able to use the creative skills that I learned at university and I’m really delighted. I’ve been out on drone flights with the Networx3 UAV team and am really excited about using the new gTech Labs tech on client work.”

Networx3 UAV commercial director Caroline Earnshaw said: “This is a significant investment for Networx3 UAV and it’s fantastic what this immersive technology can do. It allows us to offer a level of detail and insight that is market-leading.

“It’s great from a health and safety perspective because it avoids people having to go into unstable buildings to look at a 1m square of wall. We can create condition reports which show what a site looked like two years ago so damage and wear and tear can be measured and compared. We can create 3D models of the internals of buildings.

“We’re thrilled that Olivia, a young female graduate, has joined our team and we’ll be getting her trained up to become competent, confident and then expert at using gNext Labs.”

Russ Ellis, gNext Labs president, said: “The efficiencies are amazing. Clients can produce top quality 3D models to assist their inspection team who can work from an office instead of in peril in the field.

“Using our platform Networx3 UAV can now offer a wider and more intense range of services for inspection activities to their customers.”
