Networx3 helps Spice up local scarecrow festival
Networx3 HQ has been hosting the Spice Girls… in scarecrow form.
One of the firm’s workshops was turned into a scarecrow design and build studio ahead of the annual Worsthorne Scarecrow Festival earlier this month.
Volunteers spent hours creating Geri, Mel C, Mel B and Emma from hay bales and sacks in an impromptu scarecrow factory.
Network3 got involved when founder and managing director Ian Ashworth was asked, as a local business, to donate hay bales.
The firm decided to go one step further and offer a company workshop to the scarecrow makers – and then make a time lapse video of the Spice Girls going from bales to pop superstars in just four hours.
Ian said: “We really wanted to support this lovely local community event. The workshop is more used to hosting training and commercial fleet wrapping than global girl bands but it worked really well as a warm and dry place for the Spice Girls scarecrows to come alive.”
More than 70 scarecrows were dotted around Worsthorne over the May bank holiday weekend with the Spice Girls holding court at The Bay Horse Inn in the village.
